Clifton, a multi-generational mineral owner, brings extensive leadership experience and a combined background in law and agribusiness to the Valor team. He has managed oil and gas assets for numerous investors including family offices, high-net-worth individuals and private equity firms. In addition to his work at Valor, Clifton has founded three successful oil and gas companies over the span of his career. Prior to this, Clifton practiced oil and gas law in Midland, Texas, where he drafted and negotiated oil and gas title opinions, leases, purchase and sale agreements and other contracts. He has also drafted estate plans for clients owning oil and gas interests. Clifton earned his undergraduate degree in agribusiness from Abilene Christian University and his law degree from the Georgetown Law School.
Joseph has acquired and managed oil and gas interests in over 12,000 wells throughout 30 states. He brings extensive experience in oil and gas exploration, production, development and management to the Valor team and is a Certified Mineral Manager (CMM) and a Certified Professional Landman (CPL). Joseph received his BBA and MBA from Baylor University, where he played football. An active member of the public sector, Joseph was appointed to the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists by former Governor Rick Perry. He serves as director of three organizations: the National Association of Royalty Owners — Texas, the National Stripper Well Association and formerly the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers. He was named one of Oil and Gas Investor Magazine’s “Top 20 Under 40” and featured in the Dallas Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Energy.”
John is well-versed in business, geology and energy and holds certifications as a Certified Mineral Manager and Registered Professional Landman. With experience as a fourth generation mineral rights owner and acquisitions landman, John has put his entrepreneurial skills to good use. His expertise was recognized in the inaugural class of the Fort Worth Business Press “20 In Their 20's.” He is a member of the Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate, which raises money for youth competitors and scholarships, and is a board member at the Fort Worth Petroleum Club. John received his BA in entrepreneurial management and BS in applied geoscience with a minor in energy technology management from Texas Christian University.
Liz brings a number of talents to the Valor team with expertise in operations, strategic planning, marketing, customer service, events project management and executive leadership coaching. She previously served as regional director for one of YPO's (formerly Young Presidents' Organization) largest regions in addition to other managerial roles over her 13-year tenure. YPO is the premier leadership organization for over 27,000 CEOs in 130+ countries. As regional director she facilitated over 30 strategic planning sessions and oversaw the expansion and development of four new markets in the region as well as two additional emerging markets. Prior to YPO, Liz worked in commercial real estate property management. Liz obtained a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in business from Texas A&M University.
Matt possesses 15 years of oil and gas industry experience that ranges from working as a landman to owning and managing minerals. He held managerial landman positions at King Operating, King Royalty, and Equinor (formerly Brigham Exploration/Statoil). Matt’s primary focus has been on the land management side of business, including mergers, trades, acquisitions and divestitures in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and North Dakota. He also has experience in leasing, preparing units for drilling opportunities and managing the acquisition and development of mineral packages. Matt obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ashford University.
Adam is a Certified Public Accountant with experience in public accounting as a financial statement auditor for publicly and privately held clientele in the oil & gas, manufacturing, distribution and healthcare industries. After moving into industry accounting, he worked with a rapidly growing start up to develop first time financial and accounting processes, controls and various reporting packages. Adam is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs as well as the American Institute of CPAs. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in finance from Oklahoma State University as well as an additional bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Libby serves a dual role as revenue accountant and special projects coordinator for Valor, using her background in business and communications to her advantage. She began her energy industry experience as a financial accountant at CrownQuest Operating, LLC, a private oil and gas company in Midland, TX. Libby holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a minor in general business and child development from Texas Christian University.
Dustin brings a diverse background to the team with his experience in sales, project management and talent recruitment. He built strong leadership and relationship skills as an All-American collegiate quarterback. Dustin obtained a Behavioral Sciences degree from Hardin-Simmons University and enjoys volunteering and giving back through a variety of community service projects.
T.C. has more than a decade of experience as a landman. He is experienced in title examination and has focused on negotiating land transactions throughout his career. He has been the leading leasing landman for one of the country’s largest wind energy providers and has negotiated countless transactions in the oil and gas industry as well. He assists Valor clients with title examination and in obtaining the most advantageous terms possible in any of their mineral and/or surface transactions. T.C. holds a BS in agronomy and range science from Abilene Christian University.
Tom is the manager/member of Moncrief Properties, LLC, which is involved in commercial real estate leasing and development as well as restoring and preserving historical buildings, primarily in the Weatherford, TX area. As a car collector, Tom recently started the Vintage Grill & Car Museum in Weatherford and is expanding the museum to allow other collectors to bring in their cars. He’s also working to create an events center for the Weatherford area. Tom is involved with the Moncrief family’s oil and gas exploration business, handling production and activity in many states including Wyoming, Florida, Louisiana and Texas. He has served on the boards of the American Cancer Society, All Saints Episcopal School, Fort Worth Petroleum Club and Cowtown Cruisin for a Cure (prostate cancer), for which he organized an annual new car raffle which doubled the organization’s charitable donations.
Ed is the president of McCabe Energy, Inc. For over 35 years he has been active in the Permian Basin oil and gas industry. Ed has operated and managed numerous oil and gas properties. His responsibilities required extensive interaction with mineral and royalty owners, state regulatory agencies and title attorneys. He received his undergraduate degree from Trinity University in San Antonio and an executive MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Watt graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2002 and earned an additional degree in ranch management from Texas Christian University in 2006. He is on the board of directors for Reynolds Cattle Company and is the managing partner of All Points Customs House Brokers, Inc. Watt and his sister, Ellen, are also the manager/member of Reynolds Amalgamated, LLC, a fourth generation owner of oil and gas mineral rights and royalties.
Wesley graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 with a BA in economics. After graduating, he joined the family business, Moncrief Oil, working in its offices in Houston and the former Soviet Union. While Moncrief Oil is primarily a U.S.-based domestic oil and gas business, the family briefly forayed into the former Soviet Union and took on two onshore concessions in Azerbaijan. In 2002, Wesley earned his MBA in finance from Columbia Business School. After living in Russia for three more years and pursuing oil and gas opportunities, Wesley moved back to Fort Worth, Texas to work with his family and focus on Moncrief Oil’s domestic activities. In 2009, Wesley completed the Colorado School of Mines Petroleum Superschool. Presently, Wesley works with family members alongside other employees on day-to-day oil and gas activities in the Rocky Mountains, Texas and the Gulf of Mexico.
Ryan is the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Trinity Healthcare. With over 1,600 employees across 24 locations, Trinity Healthcare Specialized in the operation and management of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities throughout Texas. Ryan was previously the Chief Financial Officer of a senior housing operator with locations across multiple states. Ryan was also previously a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young in the Dallas and New York offices. In addition to leading Trinity Healthcare, Ryan was appointed Chair of the Texas Health and Human Services Long-Term Care Facilities Council and serves on the board of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, the Fort Worth Chapter of YPO, and the Texas Health Care Association. In 2019 he was recognized as a Healthcare Hero by the Fort Worth Business Press. He is a Certified Public Accountant and received a BBA and Masters in Professional Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin. Ryan lives in Fort Worth with his wife and four children.
